JOB SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of all public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, restrooms, corridors, meeting spaces, and food and beverage outlets. This role includes overnight shifts performing deep cleaning of the restaurant kitchen and related areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

  • Cleans and maintains all public areas including lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and meeting spaces to established standards.
  • Performs overnight deep cleaning of the restaurant kitchen, including floors, walls, equipment exteriors, vents, drains, and storage areas.
  • Ensures all public areas are stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., paper products, soap, sanitizers).
  • Removes trash and recyclables from public areas and transports to designated disposal areas.
  • Responds promptly to guest and management requests for cleaning and maintenance of public areas.
  • Identifies and reports maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to the appropriate department.
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and public space furniture as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of exterior public areas, including entrances, sidewalks, and smoking areas.
  • Follows proper chemical handling and usage guidelines in accordance with safety standards.
  • Ensures compliance with sanitation and hygiene standards, especially in food and beverage areas.
  • Supports housekeeping and other departments as needed during high occupancy or special events.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Utilizes protective equipment.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.
  • Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
  • Assists other Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage Personnel when needed.
  • Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES The Hotel may consider equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below, when applicable

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Ability to properly use and handle cleaning tools such as mops, vacuums, buffers, and pressure washers.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards, particularly in kitchen and food service areas.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and report them promptly.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and perform physically demanding deep cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly, as there will be interaction with guests and other team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold and wet conditions and be able to stoop, kneel, crawl and climb on all types of surfaces.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and cleaning supplies.
  • Grasping, lifting and holding tools and having good finger dexterity is required.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property.
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
