Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the hotels housekeeping department and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests. Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping team while ensuring all housekeeping staff follow the proper safety and sanitation standards for guest rooms and public spaces. Additional tasks include overseeing the allocation of budget and supplies for the housekeeping department and contributing to the overall satisfaction of hotel guests.

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with DHM core values.
  • Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance, and safety.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests complaints and concerns.
  • Prepare schedules based upon occupancy and assign duties to associates.
  • Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to ensure supplies are purchased in a timely manner.
  • Prepare required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions.
  • Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
  • Comply with DHM internal audit standards pertaining to key control and risk management areas (I.E., lost and found, key control, guest room safety).
  • Maintain departmental expenses in line with budget as described by General Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with specific brand standards.
  • Be aware of and communicate service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to hotel brand standards.
  • Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have Hotel Housekeeping Manager experience.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.

  • Flexible enough to manage multiple tasks.

Physical Demands

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle,or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, and reach from 6-72 inches.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, plus color and depth perception.

About This Property

The Stanley Hotel is famous for its old world charm. This historic property was originally built in 1909 by FO Stanley the inventor of the Stanley Steam engine or more infamously as ‘The Stanley Steamer.’ The hotel has a legendary history over the past 100 years and was popularized by Stephen King through the movie ‘The Shining.’ The story is fictional but inspired by his stay during memorable a low-occupancy period.

The Stanley Hotel is located in Estes Park, a town in northern Colorado best known for being at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park, home to diverse wildlife and miles of trails. The Stanley Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a member of the Historic Hotels of America.
