As the Restaurant Manager at Landshark Bar & Grill, you will direct and supervise the efficient operation of food service areas from hosts, to servers, bussers and bartenders. You will also oversee and ensure the cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the restaurant, work and storage areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and responsible for front of house restaurant operations, while ensuring the highest quality product as well as sanitation and service standards reaches our guest and meets specifications, through training and monitoring.
- Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
- Responsible for nightly cash outs and closing duties of staff members and walk through of venue.
- Accountable for the development, coaching, performance appraisals, and mentoring of Staff Members.
- Ensure accurate completion of staff member schedules in accordance with forecasted business volume, maintain labor controls and assigns duties to Staff Members. Anticipate and recommend employment needs.
- Assist in hiring and training of new Staff Members within department. Must actively set up training programs on a quarterly basis for subordinate managers and supervisors development. Create and adhere to an annual plan to cross-train managers.
- Engage with guest to ensure guest satisfaction and retention.
- Notify Department Head of low inventory and recommend new inventory. Conduct proper ordering procedures to maintain appropriate par levels of all restaurant related products.
- Conduct meetings with Staff at regular intervals.
- Maintain high-level of knowledge regarding the companys products and happenings, and communicate properly to guests; establish rapport with all guests through name recognition.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
- Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program and report any accidents.
- Develop short- and long-term financial and operational plans for the food and beverage department that relate to the overall objectives of the hotel.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability. Contribute to the profitability and guest satisfaction of other hotel departments.
- Maintain and correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, security of financial assets, and inventory control.
- Manage in compliance with Federal, state, local, and Driftwood regulations, policies and standards.
- Accurately use various office and accounting software.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by Department Heads and move with a sense of urgency.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work 45-50 hours per week, could be more during the season.
Personal Skills
- Must have at leasttwo years experience in high volume Food & Beverage environment in a supervisory capacity.
- Health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness. Required to obtain cards individually and provide proof of possession subject to local laws.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
- Ability to assist with the design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed.
- Ability to assist with various accounting and office tasks as needed.
- Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures; hold subordinates accountable.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to spend 90% of working time standing, walking, and reaching and 10% of working time sitting.
- Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
- Feeling or grasping objects of different size and shape.
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Will be required to use physical capabilities including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Exposed to weather conditions and prevalent temperature changes.
- Subject to moderate to high ambient noise levels.
- Frequently required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
- Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass and metal cans, burns, slipping and tripping.
- Frequently required to wash hands and/or wear gloves.
