Job Summary

The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of all food and beverage operations within the hotel. This role involves ensuring exceptional guest experiences, optimizing revenue, and maintaining high standards of quality and service. The Director will lead, mentor, and develop the food and beverage team while collaborating with other departments to enhance the hotel's offerings.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Leadership:Develop and execute the food and beverage strategy in alignment with hotel objectives. Stay updated on industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Operational Management:Oversee daily operations across all food and beverage outlets, ensuring consistent quality and service. Implement standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Financial Oversight:Prepare, manage, and analyze the food and beverage budget, including revenue targets and cost control measures. Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Guest Experience Enhancement:Foster a guest-centric culture, ensuring exceptional dining experiences. Address and resolve guest complaints and feedback in a timely manner.

Team Development:Recruit, train, and mentor staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Marketing and Promotion:Work with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and events that drive revenue. Establish partnerships with local vendors and suppliers to enhance offerings and visibility.

Inventory and Supply Management:Oversee inventory levels, ordering processes, and vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and optimize resource use.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as sales and marketing, to enhance the overall guest experience. Participate in hotel leadership meetings to align food and beverage strategies with broader hotel goals.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Food and Beverage Operations:In-depth understanding of restaurant and bar operations, catering services, and In-Room Dining.

Culinary Trends: Knowledge of current food and beverage trends, menu development, and dietary preferences.

Financial Acumen:Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control measures.

Regulatory Compliance:Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the food and beverage industry.

Marketing Principles:Understanding of marketing strategies relevant to food and beverage promotions and events.

Skills

Leadership and Management:Strong leadership abilities to inspire and manage diverse teams effectively.

Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, guests, and vendors.

Customer Service:Exceptional guest service skills to enhance the dining experience and address concerns.

Problem-Solving:Ability to quickly assess situations and implement effective solutions.

Time Management:Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
